Supernatural Expectation

Gallup recently structured a poll about evangelicals.

Their poll indicated that we seem to be having a hard time living in the world without conforming to its culture.  We seem to be doing the same things the world is doing.

When we are sick it means a flu has attached and penetrated our immune system.

So your immune system must stay strong.  Healthy churches build an immune system that resists disease.

So to stay healthy spiritually you MUST HAVE:

The saturating presence of the HOLY SPIRIT.
You must value PRAYER.
You must value WORSHIP.

You must value the prophetic at all times.
We must value the Holy Spirit and His gifts and activity.

Now here is what I want to talk to you about.  THE VALUE OF SUPERNATURAL EXPECTATION.

The atmosphere of expectancy is vital for a powerful atmosphere of faith and expectation.

God is the same yesterday, today and forever.  An atmosphere of faith will see miracles, healings and the supernatural, but we MUST believe that all of that is for us TODAY.

God has something prepared for you that is good, miraculous and life changing.

He is ready and willing to work miracles through any person who believes in His unlimited power and possibilities.  We must have SUPER-NATURAL expectancy.

1 Corin. 2:9
But as it is written:

“Eye has not seen, nor ear heard,
Nor have entered into the heart of man
The things which God has prepared for those who love Him.”

Later he explains 2 Corin. 4:18
while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal.

An atmosphere of supernatural expectation helps people to believe and express faith.

FAITH and EXPECTATION are the essence of church culture.

Now hear me, one of the KILLERS of expectation IS BEING EASILY PLEASED.

C.S. Lewis said, “Our Lord finds our desires NOT too strong, BUT TOO WEAK.

We are half-hearted creatures, like an ignorant child who wants to go on making mud pies in a slum because he cannot imagine what is meant by the offer of a holiday at the sea.  We are far too easily pleased.”

Come on church, raise your expectation level.
Don’t be satisfied with NORMAL.
Ask God to help you see through the eyes of the spirit, as he did for Elisha’s servant.

A glimpse is all we need.  Just a peek.  What you see with natural eyes can bring fear or doubt, but what we see by faith allows us to see VICTORY.

Yours for revival,
Pastor Francis Armstrong
